OUTREACH AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

Job Description:

Director of Outreach and Public Affairs (Pay: 45 to 80K based on experience):

This position will lead MAS Boston to continue to be the advocate and the public voice of the Boston Muslim community, and the catalyst that leads Muslims to engage in further improving society. This position will report to the Executive Director and will manage the work of 

• Establishing and growing relationships with interfaith, political, academic, law enforcement and ethnic community leaders,
• Mobilizing Muslims towards civic engagement, political involvement, and advocacy 
• Protecting civil liberties and addressing discrimination against Muslims 
• Outreaching substantially to media and 
• Educating broader society about Islam and Muslims. Candidate must have deep previous experience and relevant educational background (some combination of Political Science, Govt, Social Work, Communications, Policy, Law preferred). Full details at http://www.masboston.org/jobs

Qualifications/Skills Requirements:

Restrictions for all Jobs: Must be a US permanent resident or US citizen, and must be currently residing in the US, having lived here for at least 9 years (rare exceptions may be made). Must have at least a B.A./B.S. (higher degree preferred) in relevant fields.
